A proud mum to a teenage son, I make the best of life! I love travelling, good dramas, music, boating, my daily beach walk and reading. I'm loopy about my crazy spaniel, who keeps me fit. I eat a plant-based diet and try to live and work as ecologically as possible. I have a big, beardy boyfriend whom one day I hope to marry on the beach (if he retires to Cornwall!) I am never happier than when I'm walking on the beach!

For over 26 years in London, Venezuela, Beijing, Hong Kong and in Wiltshire, I was an English (and sometimes Drama) teacher/lecturer and personal tutor to adults and children.  I especially loved the pastoral, caring aspects of my job, so helping people is really rewarding as a Celebrant. My teaching years gave me masses of experience of writing and presenting, and my love of Drama means I really enjoy offbeat ceremony arrangements and staging.

In addition to being a qualified, award-winning Celebrant, I hold a BA (Hons) and a Teaching Degree from, plus an MA (Distinction) in English Literature. I'm pretty creative with words! I'm also a qualified aromatherapist.

In 2016, the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants' wonderful Terri Shanks trained me in Sarum College, Salisbury. Terri's was one of the first Celebrant schools in the UK. Keeping up with new developments and trends with constant advice, training and updates is important to me, and I often mentor new Celebrants.

I embrace people from all creeds, orientations and cultures. I'm spiritual as opposed to religious but happy to work with all faiths and none. I have so many friends from all over the world and my own family is a mix of races, beliefs and orientations. I love people and their 'stories'.

From an Irish family (and conceived in Ireland!) I was brought up 'upcountry' in Wiltshire by my amazing Irish, singing mum, who sadly is no longer with us. I eventually moved to live near my Cornish family and friends and feel TOTALLY at home in friendly, chilled Falmouth.

I've also been a nightclub DJ (I was a Rave and Techno girl in my day, don't you know!) and a singer in a band. I love festivals, music, dancing and laughing. Life can't better without all those elements, can it? However, having had a fair few challenges in my life, I empathise and work supportively with clients in all situations. An eternal optimist, though, I see the fun and joy in every situation: I love to live life to the full!
